5 Highest Mountains in the World

The greatness and beauty of nature has no boundaries. Even from the smallest grain of sand to the highest mountains, each has its own importance, destination and beauty.  People are lucky who got a chance to see the magnificent beauty of highest mountains with their own eyes. Here I want to show appreciation to photographer who shoot or take photograph so well, which give us a chance to see the wonders of beautiful sights without visited. Traveling in mountains areas especially high peak have great charm, attraction, adventure and pleasure. Following are the details of first five highest mountains in the world.

Mount Everest is a highest mountain in the world. Its height is about 29,035 feet or 8,850 meters high.  It is located in Nepal, between the borders of Nepal and Tibet. It belongs to the ranges of Himalaya Mountains. It was name as “Mount Everest” in 1865 by the Royal Geographical Society. Climbing on the Mount Everest is the sacred dream of all mountain climbers. Every year despite of all the dangers, hundreds of people try to climbing the mountain. Edmund Percival Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were the first who climbed this mountain on 29th May 1953.

K2 is the second highest mountain in the world as well as highest mountain in Pakistan. It is also known as, “Mount Godwin Austen”. Its height is about 28,169 feet or 8,611 meters high. It is located in the Northern part of Pakistan, between the boarder of China and Pakistan. It belongs to the ranges of Karakoram Mountains. It was name as “K2” in 1852 by Thomas Montgomerie who was member of European survey team. “K” designated the Karakoram Range and “2” indicated 2nd highest mountain in world. Two Italian mountain climbers named, Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli were the first who climbed this mountain on 31st July 1954.

Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world. It is known as “The Five Treasures of Snows” because it contains five peaks and treasures represent the five repositories of god, which are gold, silver, gems, grain, and holy books. Its height is about 28,169 feet or 8,586 meters high.  It is located in Nepal, between the boarders of India and Nepal. It belongs to the ranges of Himalaya Mountains. Two British mountain climbers named, Joe Brown and George Band were the first who climbed this mountain on 25th May 1955.

Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world.  Its height is about 27,940 feet or 8,516 meter high. It located in Nepal, between the boarders of Nepal and China. It belongs to the ranges of Himalaya Mountains. Two Swiss mountain climbers named Fritz Luchsinger and Ernst Reiss were the first who climbed this mountain on 18th May 1956.

Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world. Its height is about 27,842 feet or 8,481 meters high.  It is located in Nepal, between the borders of Nepal and China. It belongs to the ranges of Himalaya Mountains. It is an isolated peak with four sided pyramid shape. It is considered as one of the most difficult mountain in the world to climb because of its steep pitches and knife edged ridges. Many well-known claimers were failed in their attempts however two French mountain climbers named Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy were successful in climbing this mountain on 15th May 1955.

Four out of five highest mountains in the world are located in Nepal. People of Nepal feel pride in holding eight out of fourteen highest mountain of the world in their country.
